US STUDENT VISAS
American student visas are required for those who wish to study in any state of the US. They are issued by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Depending on the circumstances, this visa may also permit a student to work while attending school.

To apply for an American student visa, you must have been accepted to a USCIS-approved American high school, university, community college, Christian college, career college or graduate school. The application must be completed and submitted to your nearest US consulate. You should pay the necessary fees and provide necessary documentation, depending on what the visa-officer tells you is required.

The menu links on the right will take you to more detailed step-by-step instructions on what to do before you apply, who can apply, how to apply and what to do after applying. There is also information on medical examination requirements, where to find American visa offices both within and outside of the US, how to extend your stay, and information on travelling to other countries with an American student visa.
